Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, recently appointed Minister of Sports in the government of Manuel Valls, was in attendance at the Parc des Princes during PSG’s victorious match against Chelsea in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League. The Moroccan-origin minister enjoyed the game from the presidential stand, where she received a Paris jersey with her name printed on it as a gift from Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the president of PSG.
The 3-1 victory for Laurent Blanc’s team must have been a delightful experience for the minister. It remains to be seen if she will make the trip to Stamford Bridge for the return match this Tuesday, but her presence at the first leg underscores her interest and support for sports in France.
