Petro Luanda, the Angolan football powerhouse, is bracing itself for a high-stakes encounter as they prepare to face TP Mazembe in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League. The first leg of this thrilling clash is set to take place this weekend, with the Angolan outfit led by coach Alexandre Santos gearing up for the challenge.

The matchup promises to be a spectacle of African football, as Petro Luanda travels to Lubumbashi to take on TP Mazembe at their home turf, the Kamalondo Stadium.

Despite the formidable reputation of TP Mazembe, Santos remains composed and focused, refusing to succumb to the pressure of being labeled as the underdog.

Acknowledging TP Mazembe’s illustrious history in the Champions League, Santos concedes the favorites’ tag to the Congolese giants.

“We know that TP Mazembe has already won a few trophies in this competition, and for everything they have done, it is logical that they are favorites in this match,” stated Santos, emphasizing the respect his team holds for their formidable opponents.

Petro Luanda’s journey to Lubumbashi is marked by determination and readiness to face the challenges ahead.

With both teams having previously clinched victories in their encounters, the stage is set for a fiercely contested battle on Saturday, March 28, with kick-off scheduled for 1 p.m. GMT.

Leading the officiating duties will be Libyan referee Ibrahim Mutaz, ensuring a fair and impartial contest between the two formidable sides.

As Petro Luanda braces for this pivotal showdown, football enthusiasts await with bated breath to witness the unfolding drama and excitement that the CAF Champions League quarter-finals are poised to deliver.
