They were under judicial investigation for an alleged rape incident dating back to June 2012. However, Bafétimbi Gomis (Lyon) and Yohan Benalouane (Atalanta) have now been cleared of all charges. Lyon Capitale reported on Tuesday that the investigating judge overseeing the case decided to close the investigations last December, thereby exonerating the OL striker and his former teammate from Saint-Étienne, who was considered an assisted witness in the affair.
Gomis and Benalouane had been accused of sexual abuse by a 38-year-old woman following a night of heavy drinking.
