Romelu Lukaku’s efforts couldn’t salvage the match for Everton as Arsenal emerged victorious in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Gunners dominated especially in the second half, with Mikel Arteta converting a penalty after Barry’s collision with Chamberlain. French striker Olivier Giroud sealed the win with two goals late in the match.
Giroud’s first goal came as Sagna found him perfectly positioned in the area, allowing him to score without hesitation. The second goal was set up by Rosicky’s pass to Özil, who calmly assisted Giroud for the double.
Mesut Özil opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 7th minute.
With this victory, Arsenal secures a spot in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
