Apollon Limassol, the Cypriot club, remains steadfast in their desire to retain central defender Godswill Ekpolo, despite the looming expiration of his contract in three months.

Reports from Protathlima suggest that BK Häcken made a substantial offer of €250,000 for Ekpolo’s services, aiming to secure his transfer.

However, Apollon Limassol swiftly rebuffed the bid, affirming their stance that the 28-year-old Nigerian is not available for sale.

The club is keen on extending Ekpolo’s contract, reflecting their commitment to keeping hold of the defender, who honed his skills at FC Barcelona.

Despite ongoing negotiations, no agreement has been finalized as of yet.

Throughout the current season, Ekpolo has been a mainstay in the Apollon Limassol lineup, featuring in 28 matches across various competitions and accumulating an impressive total of 2,438 minutes of playing time.

His on-field contributions include scoring two goals and providing two assists, showcasing his versatility and defensive prowess.

With a market value estimated at €1.20 million according to Transfermarkt, Ekpolo’s value is widely recognized in the footballing world.

It’s noteworthy that the player has a history with BK Häcken, having previously represented the Swedish club between July 2018 and January 2022.

As negotiations continue between Apollon Limassol and Ekpolo regarding his contract extension, the club remains determined to secure his services for the foreseeable future.

However, BK Häcken’s interest in the player underscores his appeal and the impact he could potentially bring to any team fortunate enough to secure his signature.
