Raja de Casablanca midfielder Guehi Kouko is set to reunite with his longtime friend Lakpa Dogui Jules of Horoya de Conakry during the 16th finals of the Champions League. The two players have a history together, having previously played for Séwé Sport de San Pedro in Ivory Coast. Kouko expressed his excitement about meeting his friend again, despite the competitive nature of the match.
“I just spoke to him. He’s my forever friend. It will be a pleasure to meet again, even though we won’t be giving each other any presents,” Kouko said.
However, Kouko anticipates a challenging encounter in the Guinean capital, citing Horoya’s ambitious recruitment efforts and the conditions of the playing field and the crowd as potential challenges.
“For Raja, it’s important to achieve a good and assured result in the return match,” Kouko emphasized, highlighting the importance of performing well in the first leg to set up a comfortable position for the return fixture.
Raja de Casablanca is preparing to travel to Conakry for the upcoming match scheduled for next Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
