Like Africa Top Sports.com, it’s the off-field drama that’s causing a stir in the world of European football.
Arsenal’s French striker, Olivier Giroud, who has been struggling for form on the pitch along with many of his teammates, has been embroiled in controversy. The Sun published a photo this Sunday allegedly showing the former Montpellier player naked in a hotel room.
According to the English tabloid, Giroud had a sexual encounter with top model Celia Kay just hours before a match against Crystal Palace. As a consequence, it’s speculated that he will be excluded from playing in the FA Cup match this Sunday against Liverpool. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is reportedly considering imposing a fine of £230,000 on Giroud.
In response to the allegations, Giroud took to Twitter to publicly ask for forgiveness from his wife, family, fans, and club:
“I apologize to my wife, my family, my manager, my teammates, and the Arsenal supporters.

I must now fight for my family and for my club, to obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters now.

Will his apologies be accepted?
