YAYA TOURÉ: “I DESERVE TO BE THE BEST AFRICAN PLAYER” – VIDEO
For the past three years, Yaya Touré has been living a dream. The Ivorian midfielder has been setting the Premier League pitches ablaze and has become a source of pride for his country. Though modest in his personal life, his performance on the field speaks volumes. Just two days before the highly anticipated Champions League clash between Manchester City and FC Barcelona, Touré was the focus of a report by our colleagues at Telefoot.
“It’s a tough challenge. It’s not just about facing my former teammates; mentally, it’s going to be a test. Nonetheless, I consider myself mentally strong, so I believe I’ll handle it well. Nonetheless, I must admit I wasn’t eager to face Barça at this stage,” confessed the former Catalan.
Having been named Best African Player for the third consecutive year last January, Touré is driven to add the Champions League trophy to his already illustrious career achievements. “In England, winning the league is the goal, but for me, winning the Champions League would be monumental,” he remarked.
