The Ghanaian women’s football team has solidified its place in the semifinals of the 2023 African Games after securing a second consecutive victory, this time against Tanzania with a score of 2-1.

In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the Ghanaian team, led by Tracey Twum, delivered a stellar performance against their Tanzanian counterparts in Cape Coast.

Following their initial triumph over Ethiopia (1-0), Ghana continued their winning streak by defeating Tanzania, reaffirming their dominance in the tournament.

The match saw Ghana’s Tracey Twum opening the scoring just before halftime, seizing the opportunity to put her team ahead.

Mukurama Abdulai further extended Ghana’s lead with a goal in the 64th minute, showcasing the team’s cohesion and attacking prowess.

Despite Tanzania’s efforts, their only goal, scored by Hasnath Ubamba in the 23rd minute, proved insufficient to secure victory against the determined Ghanaian side.

With this victory, Ghana now sits comfortably atop the standings with six points, guaranteeing their place in the semifinals of the tournament. On the other hand, the Tanzanian team, known as the Tanzanite Queens, will need to secure a win in their third match against Ethiopia to bolster their chances of qualification, having earned just one point so far in the competition.

As the 2023 African Games progress, all eyes will be on the Ghanaian women’s football team as they continue their quest for glory.

With their impressive performance and unwavering determination, they have undoubtedly emerged as strong contenders for the coveted title.

As they march forward in the tournament, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing their continued success on the field.
