In the first match of the 22nd day of the French Ligue 1, Lille missed the opportunity to secure a victory as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Rennes. René Girard’s team has now gone four consecutive league matches without a win.
Salomon Kalou opened the scoring with a header in the 34th minute, giving Lille a 1-0 lead. However, just before the break, Abdoulaye Doucouré equalized for Rennes in the 41st minute, leveling the score at 1-1.
With this result, Lille remains in the third position with 47 points, while PSG leads the league with 50 points. Saint Etienne, currently in fourth place with 37 points, has the opportunity to narrow the gap to just one point if they secure a victory in their upcoming match.
