Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba,” the forward for Al-Ahly, intervened to contain a potential crisis between his teammate, Imam Ashour, and a journalist following the Cup final against Zamalek.
Imam Ashour and the journalist Mahyoub Abdel Hadi were on the brink of a confrontation on the pitch after Al-Ahly’s victory in the final.
However, Kahraba stepped in and defused the situation, urging his teammate to step back.
The Al-Ahly fans, jubilant after their team’s victory, showed their appreciation for Kahraba’s intervention by chanting his name, recognizing his role in resolving the conflict.
Al-Ahly secured their 39th Egyptian Cup title in history by defeating their arch-rivals Zamalek 2-0 on Friday at the “Al-Oul Park” stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Imam Ashour opened the scoring in the 84th minute, followed by a goal from Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” in the 90+4 minute.
Imam Ashour was awarded the Man of the Match prize, valued at $50,000.
