Yassin Adli, the French-Algerian player for AC Milan, has made his first comments regarding the anger expressed by Algerians over his decision to represent the French national team instead of Algeria during his international career.
Adli made these statements during a press conference preceding the match between AC Milan and Slavia Prague in the Europa League.
He emphasized his desire to compete at the highest level internationally and his ambition to wear the jersey of the French national team.
His remarks sparked outrage among a significant portion of Algerian fans, while others showed little concern, viewing it as the player’s right to choose the national team he represents during his international career.
Speaking to “La Gazette du Fennec,” a French-language Algerian website, Adli addressed the issue, stating, “I understand the anger of Algerians, but I have said that I will explain my reasons (for my choice) in the future.”
