Ahmed Adel, former star of Al Ahly, has emphasized the crucial role of tactics in football, praising Manuel Jose’s tactical acumen during his tenure. Speaking on television, Adel noted that Manuel Gomez, the coach of Zamalek, is beginning to identify the team’s strengths and weaknesses, reaching an optimal formation with approximately 60% effectiveness and players capable of executing his ideas.
“It’s difficult for Abdullah El-Said to play a full match in the number 6 position, and Mohamed Awad seems more suitable for Zamalek’s goalkeeping duties,” Adel commented.
Reflecting on memorable encounters in his career, Adel recalled the exhilarating final match of the Egypt Cup, a thrilling 4-3 victory for Al Ahly.
Despite trailing multiple times, Al Ahly emerged victorious, a testament to Manuel Jose’s motivational prowess.
“Manuel Jose always knew how to inspire players or speak to them firmly to provoke their potential on the field.
He maintained a positive psychological approach,” Adel remarked.
Adel continued, highlighting Jose’s influence over the players, particularly during their stellar performances.
“Jose’s personality was the only one capable of controlling these stars during that period,” he added.
