A delegation from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) arrived in Annaba city yesterday, Thursday, to inspect the 19 May 1956 and Chabou Abdelkader stadiums in preparation for the upcoming Algeria Friendly Cup scheduled for March of this year.
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) revealed through its official website that the visit is part of the preparations for the “FIFA Serie 2024” international tournament, which Algeria will host from March 18 to March 26, 2024.
The Algeria Cup will feature the participation of four teams alongside the Algerian national team, including South Africa, Bolivia, and Andorra.
In this regard, representatives from FIFA arrived in Annaba on Thursday for an inspection visit to the city, which will host two matches in this tournament between South Africa and Andorra on March 21, and Bolivia and Andorra on March 25.
The delegation included Mahdi Merzouk, Ndaye Davis, Habeemanah Seekspeerth, and Fato Benito, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the FAF and members of the local organizing committee.
They visited both the Chabou Abdelkader and 19 May 1956 stadiums.
Furthermore, the Federation highlighted that the FIFA delegation also visited the hotels where officials and the three participating teams will be accommodated during their stay in Annaba.
