Riyad Mahrez, the former star of the Algerian national team and Manchester City, continues to hold his ground in European competitions, despite his departure from the top five European leagues in the last summer transfer window.
According to the latest statistics from the French website “pop foot,” released yesterday, Mahrez ranks tenth among the top ten players with the highest ratio of assists per game in the UEFA Champions League in the twenty-first century.
Mahrez achieved a high ratio of 0.29 assists per game, based on 55 matches he played in the prestigious European club competition while representing Manchester City and Leicester City. Throughout these matches, Mahrez provided a total of 16 assists.
Remarkably, Mahrez is the only Arab and African player featured in this list of the top ten players with the highest ratio of assists per game in the UEFA Champions League during the twenty-first century.
