Reports from Saudi Arabia have emerged confirming the intervention of Al-Raed Club’s management to resolve the ongoing dispute between the team’s coach Igor Jovićević and Algerian international player Amir Saïoud.
The disagreement arose following an incident that led to the exclusion of the Algerian player from Al-Raed’s recent match against Al-Fayha in the Saudi Professional League.
Coach Igor Jovićević stated that Saïoud was sidelined from the match due to his reluctance to play for the team.
In response, the player posted a picture on his Instagram account, showing him participating in the team’s training sessions, with a caption asserting, “The desire to play for my team has always been present and evident.”
This contradicted the coach’s claims and emphasized the existing discord between the two parties.
According to a report by Saudi news outlet “Al-Sharq Al-Awsat,” Al-Raed Club’s management intervened to address the dispute between Saïoud and the team’s coach ahead of their upcoming match against Al-Nassr.
It is expected that Saïoud will return to Al-Raed’s starting lineup for Thursday’s match against Al-Nassr, marking the 23rd round of the Saudi Professional League.
