Former Al-Ahly star, Mohamed Youssef, emphasized the importance of developing the youth and junior sectors of national teams, expressing hope for the Football Association to overcome this stage and build a strong team in the coming years.
Speaking on the “Al-Rimontada” program with the presenter Ahmed Hossam “Mido,” broadcasted on Al-Mehwar TV channel, Youssef stated, “It is crucial to enhance the structure of the youth and junior national teams in preparation for the future.”
“We have started to develop the teams of 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009. These are the upcoming generations that will play an active role in Egyptian football in a few years,” he added.
Youssef expressed his wish for full support from the system and the Football Association to overcome obstacles and produce players capable of representing the national team in international competitions.
“Implementing the Portuguese approach in national teams, with a team for each age group, is challenging due to the lack of significant financial resources. We try to utilize the sectors to highlight talented players to represent the national teams,” he elaborated.
