Mondher Kebaier commits to leading Club Africain amidst initial resignation thoughts

The 53-year-old Tunisian football tactician, has officially communicated his decision to remain at the helm of Club Africain of Tunis. The announcement comes after Kebaier, who assumed the position on February 10, 2024, contemplated stepping down following his team’s recent elimination from the CAF Cup quarter-finals.

Despite facing a setback with a one-goal draw against Academica Lobito from Angola, leading to Club Africain’s exit from the competition, Kebaier initially hinted at the possibility of resigning during a post-match press conference last Thursday.

However, he assured that he would discuss the matter with the club’s management before making a final decision.

After consultations with the club’s leadership, Kebaier has opted to stay on board, expressing his commitment to continue the new project he initiated.

In the two CAF Cup matches under his management, Club Africain suffered a defeat against Dreams FC of Ghana and a draw against Academica Lobito, results deemed unfavorable for the club’s aspirations.

Despite the challenging start, Mondher Kebaier is determined to restore the club’s image and implement a comprehensive project aimed at elevating its performance.

With a crucial fixture against Club Sportif Sfaxien just 48 hours away for the first day of Plays Out, Kebaier is poised to leverage his extensive experience, having previously coached the Eagles of Carthage and played for Raja Casablanca in Morocco, along with multiple clubs in Tunisia.

The decision to retain Mondher Kebaier reflects the club’s confidence in his strategic vision and coaching prowess.

As he navigates the upcoming challenges, Kebaier’s wealth of experience is expected to play a pivotal role in steering Club Africain back to the upper echelons of football success.
