The Egyptian Football Association, under the presidency of Gamal Allam, received a letter from Liverpool FC requesting the exemption of star player Mohamed Salah from the upcoming Egypt national team camp due to injury.
A source within the association, speaking exclusively to “Al Masry Al Youm,” revealed, “The association received a letter from Liverpool FC requesting Mohamed Salah’s exemption from participation in the friendly tournament in the United Arab Emirates due to concerns over aggravating his injury.”
The source added, “If Mohamed Salah participates with Liverpool before the camp, we will include him in the national team.”
However, as of now, the national team’s coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan has not made any official decision regarding the matter to respond to Liverpool’s letter.
They will await Salah’s participation with the Reds before making any decisions.
Mohamed Salah sustained an injury while with the national team during the recent Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Ivory Coast. This injury forced him to be sidelined for a month from January 19th to February 13th.
He returned in a match against Brentford in the league but was unable to participate due to a recurrence of the injury.
This recurrence has caused Mohamed Salah to miss several matches for the team, the latest being the game against Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League, extending his absence to 12 days.
Earlier, German coach Jurgen Klopp had revealed that Egyptian Pharaoh Mohamed Salah, a player for Liverpool FC, would return in the match against Manchester City scheduled for March 10th.
It’s worth noting that Egypt’s national team camp, led by coach Hossam Hassan, is set to begin on the 12th before traveling to the UAE to participate in a friendly tournament involving Croatia, New Zealand, and Tunisia.
