The Egyptian club Zamalek has brought an end to the saga surrounding its former player, who currently dons the jersey of its arch-rival, Al Ahly – Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim, popularly known as “Kahraba.”
The board of directors of Zamalek, led by Chairman Hussien Labib, announced the settlement of the outstanding fine owed by Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba,” the club’s former player, amounting to approximately $2.5 million.
In a statement released Thursday, Zamalek’s board emphasized the complete closure of the matter, following the full payment of the fine into the club’s official account.
The club clarified in its statement that it would communicate with FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to notify them of the player’s settlement of the fine owed to Zamalek.
With this resolution, the dispute involving Kahraba and Zamalek has come to an end, with the player no longer facing the threat of suspension.
Kahraba, aged 28, departed from Zamalek in the summer of 2019, despite being under contract with the club.
He moved to Portugal’s Desportivo Aves.
Later on, Kahraba joined Al Ahly after terminating his contract with the Portuguese club in January 2020.
