Port Sudan, in the Red Sea State, hosted an enlightening workshop yesterday on sports under the theme “Sports for All,” organized by the Higher Council for Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with the General Administration of Youth and Sports in the state.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Mani Abdullah, Director of the General Administration of Youth and Sports, emphasized the importance of the workshop in instilling the concept of sports for all and involving persons with disabilities in this field.

Furthermore, the Secretary-General of the Council, Ms. Amna Abdelqader, praised the effective partnerships with the Council to address the issues of persons with disabilities.

She pledged to activate sports activities for this segment of society and to extend them to various states across Sudan.

The workshop delved into specialized working papers, including a definition of sports and a discussion on the types of sports relevant to persons with disabilities.

The session witnessed extensive participation and engagement from representatives of various entities related to social development, the national sports sector, and the state-level sports sector.

The workshop aimed to promote inclusivity in sports and enhance the participation of persons with disabilities, reflecting a broader societal commitment to accessibility and equal opportunities.
