Sources within the Moroccan Football Federation have affirmed their keen interest in the accomplishments of Ahmed Al-Qantari, the coach of Valenciennes in France.
In exclusive statements to Koora, the sources stated that the Moroccan Football Federation is closely monitoring the performance of the young Moroccan coach, aged 39, after leading his team to a historic achievement of reaching the semi-finals of the French Cup, a feat that has eluded the club for 50 years.
Al-Qantari, a former defender for the Moroccan national team, saw his last official participation with the Atlas Lions during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
He was a teammate of Mehdi Benatia, who currently serves as the head of technical consultancy at Marseille in France.
Several Moroccan coaches are currently enjoying significant success. Among the most notable is Hussein Amotta’s achievement with the Jordan national team, reaching the final of the Asian Cup.
Additionally, Said Chiba’s success in guiding the youth team to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Indonesia, alongside Issam El Adoua led the Olympic team to clinch the title in the Africa Cup of Nations for players under 23 years old.
