Youssef Hajji has officially joined the technical staff of the Morocco national football team as part of preparations for upcoming competitions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Hajji will serve as second assistant coach, working alongside first assistant João Sacramento under head coach Mohamed Ouahbi.

As part of the team’s preparations, Ouahbi is set to hold a press conference on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, where he will unveil the squad for the upcoming international friendlies.

The Atlas Lions are scheduled to face Ecuador on March 27 in Madrid, before taking on Paraguay on March 31 in Lens.

Ouahbi’s appointment as head coach of the senior national team follows his impressive success with Morocco’s under-20 side, where he led the team to a historic achievement that strengthened belief in his ability to guide the Atlas Lions into a new era.

With a refreshed technical team now in place, Morocco are looking to build a competitive squad capable of making a strong impact on the global stage.
