Egyptian football club Zamalek’s left-back, Mohamed Abdel-Shafi, is scheduled to fly to Germany on Thursday to undergo cruciate ligament surgery following an injury sustained during the team’s recent training sessions.
The club’s administrative staff finalized all arrangements for Abdel-Shafi’s travel to Germany in the past few hours.
Zamalek officials have expressed their gratitude to the German Embassy in Egypt for promptly processing the player’s travel visa and for the cooperation extended to the White Knights on numerous occasions.
Abdel-Shafi’s injury setback comes as a blow to Zamalek, with the player being a key component of the team’s defensive lineup.
His absence due to the impending surgery will undoubtedly pose challenges for the club as they navigate through their upcoming fixtures.
