The Black Queens of Ghana are gearing up to face Zambia’s Copper Queens in the return leg of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers. The head coach of the Ghanaian women’s team, Nora Hauptle, expressed her strategic approach to secure a win in this highly anticipated showdown.

With the ambition to secure a spot in the last four of the Olympic qualifiers, the Black Queens are fully aware that a triumph in the upcoming match, hosted on the home ground of their Zambian counterparts in Ndola, is imperative.

Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first leg held in Accra, Hauptle draws motivation from the commendable performance displayed by her team.

In a pre-match conference, Hauptle acknowledged the positive statistics favoring the Black Queens in the initial encounter, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of football.

She stated, “We lost the match 1:0 in Accra but we had a good performance on the pitch. When you look at the statistics, they were all on our side and we deserved it. I think that’s how football goes sometimes.”

Having spent days preparing on Zambian soil, the Swiss tactician exudes confidence in her players’ ability to fulfill their objective.

Hauptle outlined her game plan for the crucial fixture, emphasizing the need to score and subsequently stabilize the game.

The return match, slated to unfold at the Levy Mwanawasa Sports Stadium in Ndola, Zambia, promises to be a riveting contest as both teams vie for a coveted spot in the Olympic qualifiers’ final stages.

As anticipation builds for this pivotal clash, followers of women’s football eagerly await the outcome of the Black Queens’ strategic maneuvers against the Copper Queens.
