A confidential source within Al-Ahly club has disclosed new developments in the quest for the Red Castle to secure sponsorship rights for Brooksie’s first football team, which competes in the second-division professional league.
Under the leadership of Mahmoud El Khatib, Al-Ahly’s board of directors is considering investing in a club competing in the professional league to harness young talents available in other divisions and to capitalize financially on player transfers.
This move also aims to bolster the Red Team with promising young talents.
“The Egyptian Today” continued its investigation, contacting an insider at Al-Ahly to uncover the intricacies of the deal.
The source stated, “There is considerable discontent within Al-Ahly club due to statements made by one of the officials at Brooksie club to the media regarding negotiation details.”
The source added, “Al-Ahly is considering another club in the professional league as a backup option should negotiations with Brooksie fail, given the existing disputes between the parties.
Brooksie’s management demanded EGP 25 million for the contract in addition to 50% of any player’s sale, with the other 50% going to Al-Ahly, a proposal rejected by the Red Castle’s administration.”
It was clarified by the source that Al-Ahly proposed a 25% share of any player’s sale to Brooksie, up from the initial offer of 15% at the outset of negotiations.
Ramsi Saleh, former Al-Ahly goalkeeper, is set to assume the role of team manager following unanimous agreement within the club.
However, the position of general coach remains contentious, with the team’s head coach to be selected by Al-Ahly’s management soon.
