French Ambassador in Egypt hosts Al Ahly’s Modeste: a symbol of Franco-Egyptian sporting relations

Anthony Modeste, the star player of Al Ahly Football Club, met with the French Ambassador to Egypt on Sunday evening.

Eric Chevallier, the French Ambassador stationed in Egypt, warmly welcomed the French football star Anthony Modeste at the premises of the French Embassy in Giza.

Commenting on the meeting, the ambassador stated, “Meeting with Anthony Modeste, the first French football player to play for Al Ahly.”

He further expressed his pride in having a French player in Egypt, underscoring the significance of Modeste’s presence in fostering cultural and sporting exchange between the two nations.

At 35 years old, Modeste has showcased his prowess in 15 matches wearing the iconic red jersey of Al Ahly across various competitions.

Since joining the club last summer in the transfer window, he has notched up 3 goals and provided an assist, contributing significantly to the team’s success on the field.
