Renowned sports presenter Hani Hathout has voiced allegations of unfair refereeing against Pyramids FC during their recent match against TP Mazembe in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Speaking on the “Al-Match” program broadcasted on “Sada Al-Balad” channel, Hani Hathout stated that the Ghanaian referee overseeing the game unjustly penalized Pyramids FC, leading to their elimination from the CAF Champions League.
Hathout questioned when Pyramids FC would secure a championship despite their significant financial backing, emphasizing that the club’s management has made top signings over the years yet failed to clinch any titles since its inception.
He asserted that the crisis facing Pyramids FC stems from a flawed foundation, citing the club’s hiring of 19 coaches to date. Hathout stressed that Pyramids FC’s management must recalibrate its course to achieve championship success.
Addressing rumors about Pyramids FC’s potential closure following their exit from the CAF Champions League, Hani Hathout clarified that the club, despite participating in 20 tournaments, has not secured any championships.
He confirmed that the club’s owners have urged the players to turn the page and focus on winning the league title.
