Five clubs have officially bid farewell to the group stage of the 2023-2024 CAF Champions League after the conclusion of the fifth round of matches.
In Group A, both Egyptian Pyramids and Nouadhibou from Mauritania bowed out of the competition, conceding their places to TP Mazembe from Congo and Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, who clinched the coveted qualification spots.
Meanwhile, Group B remains fiercely contested even before the final matchday, with ASEC Mimosas from Ivory Coast securing their spot in the next stage.
The trio of Wydad Casablanca from Morocco, Galaxy FC from Botswana, and Simba SC from Tanzania are locked in a battle for the remaining qualification berth.
Group C saw Atlético Petróleos de Luanda from Angola secure their place at the top of the standings, while Tunisia’s Esperance de Tunis bid adieu to the tournament.
The second qualification spot hangs in the balance, with both Esperance de Tunis and Al-Hilal from Sudan vying for advancement.
The scenario is no different in Group D, where Al Ahly from Egypt and Young Africans from Tanzania have already sealed their spots in the quarter-finals.
This leaves CR Belouizdad from Algeria and Medeama SC from Ghana out of contention.
