A heated altercation erupted between Algerian international Adlène Guedioura and his coach, Brazilian Marcos Paquetá, following CR Belouizdad’s Algerian defeat to Youngs African in Tanzania with four goals to none, on Saturday, in the fifth round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
The incident took place in the 90th minute of the match when player Adlène Guedioura, who was on the substitute bench, realized he wouldn’t be entering the game.
In a fit of frustration, he hurled a bottle of soda at his coach.
Coach Marcos Paquetá reacted sharply to the player’s outburst, and things almost escalated further had it not been for the intervention of the team’s technical staff.
