The Moroccan women’s national team achieved a significant victory against their Tunisian hosts with a score of two goals to one on Friday, marking the outset of the third round of Africa’s qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Fatima Taknaout opened the scoring for the national team in the 44th minute, only for Tunisia’s Ila Qabashi to level the score in the 52nd minute.
However, it was Ghizlane who sealed the victory by finding the net in the 54th minute.
The return leg will be held next Wednesday in Morocco.
The winner of this match will face the victor from the encounter between Zambia and Ghana in the subsequent stage of the qualifiers.
