Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, a key player for Al-Ittihad football team, has hailed their exit from the Uzbek team Navbahor’s ground without any injuries as a significant gain for the team.
The match concluded in a goalless draw last Thursday at the Navbahor Central Stadium in Namangan, Uzbekistan.
During a press conference on Wednesday regarding the upcoming return leg match on Thursday, Hamdallah reflected on the conditions of Navbahor’s pitch.
He stated, “Unfortunately, we played on a subpar field, and thankfully we didn’t suffer any injuries.
This is a positive despite the draw.”
He emphasized, “We aim to perform better tomorrow and secure qualification to the quarterfinals of the tournament,” while also acknowledging the occasion of Saudi National Day, extending his congratulations to Saudis and wishing them further prosperity.
The Brazilian striker Romarinho sustained a muscle injury against Navbahor and was forced to leave the pitch prematurely.
However, his Moroccan teammate downplayed concerns of severe injuries during the press conference.
Romarinho swiftly returned and participated in the 2-0 victory against Al-Riyadh last Sunday in the 21st round of the Saudi Professional League.
