Peter Croonen, the president of Belgium’s football club Genk, has outlined the club’s strategy to achieve financial balance through the sale of some players during each transfer window, compensating them with others at a carefully considered cost.
Croonen, as reported by Belgian media outlets, anticipates that Moroccan international Bilal El Khannouss will be the most expensive transfer during the upcoming summer, especially given his outstanding performance in the Belgian league, attracting interest from several clubs in the top five European leagues.
El Khannouss is currently under contract with Genk until 2027, with his value in the transfer market soaring to €22 million, making him the most valuable player in the Belgian league, according to the latest update from the Transfermarkt platform.
It’s worth noting that Bilal El Khannouss has been linked with various clubs across European leagues for some time, including Marseille in France, Galatasaray in Turkey, Borussia Dortmund in Germany, and Manchester United in England.
