The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has lauded Zamalek’s remarkable achievement in the ongoing 2023-2024 CAF Confederation Cup.
The accolade comes as Zamalek maintained a clean sheet throughout their appearances in the group stage of the continental tournament.
In a tweet, CAF celebrated Zamalek’s defensive prowess, stating, “Neither the nets of Union Algerienne nor Zamalek’s have been shaken in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.”

The tweet further pondered on the longevity of this outstanding streak.
Zamalek finds itself in Group 2 of the African tournament alongside Libya’s Abu Salim, Angola’s Sagrada, and Guinea’s Swar.
So far, Zamalek has played four matches in the group stage, keeping clean sheets in all of them.
The White Knights secured victories in their initial matches, defeating Abu Salim with a lone goal and thrashing Swar’s academy with a resounding four-goal margin.
Additionally, they clinched a narrow victory against Sagrada in Cairo and played out a goalless draw against Sagrada in Angola.
Zamalek is slated to face Abu Salim in the next fixture of the Confederation Cup on Sunday, the 25th of this month, marking the return leg of the fifth round of the continental championship.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM Cairo time.
