Contrary to initial concerns, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani have formed a successful partnership at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) since Cavani’s transfer from Napoli last summer. Ibrahimovic expressed his appreciation for Cavani’s contribution to the team, emphasizing that their understanding on the pitch has made the game easier for both of them. According to Ibrahimovic, their collaboration has brought an added dimension to PSG’s attack that was lacking in the previous season.
“Having Cavani makes my game easier; we help each other. If I don’t score, he scores. This is something we didn’t have last year. He also does a lot of defensive work and is good for the team. This is what we needed,” stated Ibrahimovic following PSG’s victory against Lyon in the 15th round of Ligue 1.
With 11 goals for Ibrahimovic and 10 for Cavani after 15 league matches, the striking duo has proven to be one of the most prolific attacking pairs in European football. Their on-field partnership has contributed significantly to PSG’s success in the current season.
