The board of Al Ahly Sporting Club, led by President Mahmoud El-Khatib, is set to visit Zamalek Sporting Club, on Monday. This visit comes in response to an invitation extended some time ago by Zamalek’s board, under the leadership of Chairman Hussein Labib.
The friendly visit underscores the deep-rooted relationship between the two storied clubs and their venerable fan bases across generations.
Originally scheduled earlier, Al Ahly’s board was to accept the invitation, yet circumstances, including the unfortunate passing of the club’s vice president, Amer Farouk, due to illness three weeks ago, led to the postponement.
It’s worth noting that the outstanding relationship between these Egyptian sporting powerhouses has always transcended time and space.
Despite their spirited competition across various sports, mutual respect remains paramount.
Recent times have witnessed several positive gestures reflecting the bonds of affection and camaraderie among these sporting entities, all of which contribute significantly to supporting and uplifting national teams.
