The agile Franco-Moroccan goalkeeper with Guinean roots, currently plies his trade at Wydad Casablanca, a prominent contender in the Botola Pro. Despite attracting interest from other clubs, the Nice-born shot-stopper remains committed to proving his mettle with WAC, where he boasts a contract extending over the next four seasons. Concurrently, he expresses pride in the prospect of representing the national Syli of Guinea.
In a recent interview, Bah shed light on his footballing journey and aspirations:
Can you describe your football journey to Wydad?
“I did all my classes within the OGC Nice club, from the football school until the end of the training center course at the age of 19. Then, I was in Corsica in National 3, where we moved up to National 2. I joined Rachad Bernoussi at the start of the 2022 season, where I completed a full season, as captain of the team. Subsequently, I joined Wydad Casablanca in August 2023.”
How is your new season going with the WAC?
“I was quickly integrated by the players and the technical staff. I feel very comfortable with the group. There is a lot of quality, and the conditions are right to work. I train with perseverance and determination to be ready when the time comes.”
What is your contractual situation with your club?
“I am still under contract with Wydad Casablanca for the next four seasons. I hope to be able to progress and flourish here in Morocco, which is considered the best championship on the African continent.”
Have you already been approached by other foreign clubs?
“Yes, I was approached by other clubs. But, as I told you earlier, I am under contract with Wydad Casablanca. So, I prefer to concentrate on my objectives with my club, and then we will see what happens. We are in the middle of the championship, and we are playing for the championship title.”
You are apparently of Guinean and Moroccan origin. Do you already have an idea about your international career?
“Indeed, my father (Abdallah Bah, who participated in the 2004 CAN with the national Syli, Editor’s note) is the former international goalkeeper of the Guinea team, and I also have Moroccan nationality. I have already had contact with the Guinea coach. I also followed with great interest the progress of the Guinean selection at the last African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. It’s a great team, which could go even further in this competition.”
