Former Liverpool legend, Mark Lorenson, has asserted with utmost confidence that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah will depart from the team at the end of the current season.
Salah’s name has recently been linked with a move to Saudi club Al Ittihad Jeddah, with the latter reportedly offering a staggering bid for the Reds’ top scorer in the upcoming summer transfer window – a bid totaling €235 million along with an annual salary of €85 million.
Speaking to British newspaper Mirror, Lorenson stated, “Regardless of what happens this season, I believe Mohamed Salah will leave for Saudi Arabia.”
He added, “I hope Liverpool fetches a hefty fee from the sale of the Egyptian Pharaoh, enabling them to secure a distinguished duo.”
Lorenson continued, “Salah could have left last summer, stormed into Klopp’s office, and said he wanted to leave, but the player didn’t do that.”
Lorenson pointed out that the players who have stepped up in Salah’s absence know they are fighting for a place in the starting lineup, which is a great thing.
Concluding his remarks, Lorenson said, “Liverpool’s attack boasts a plethora of stars like Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz, yet I endorse the addition of new players in the event of Mohamed Salah’s departure.”
