Dr. Mohamed Osama, the head of the medical staff of Zamalek’s first football team, has disclosed that Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, the left-back of the team, will undergo medical examinations within the next 48 hours due to an injury sustained during Thursday’s training session held at the secondary pitch of the Air Defense Stadium.
Abdel-Shafy suffered a knee injury during the practice, prompting immediate medical attention.
The extent of the injury will be determined through diagnostic tests to assess the severity and formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
This news comes as Zamalek is gearing up for a crucial encounter against Ismaily SC scheduled for February 19th in the thirteenth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The absence of Abdel-Shafy, if confirmed, could pose a significant challenge for the team, as he plays a pivotal role in the defensive lineup.
