Hossam Hassan, the newly appointed head coach of Egypt’s national football team, has directly addressed concerns voiced by some regarding his leadership of the team in the coming period.
During a press conference held today, Thursday, to announce the new coaching staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan as coach and Ibrahim Hassan as team manager, Hossam Hassan stated, “Concerns about me as a coach? Such talk is directed at me alone, I haven’t heard such concerns about any foreign coach.”
He continued, “As a coach, I have experience gained from managing various clubs, and I have had a Gulf experience with the Jordanian national team where we reached remarkable achievements, receiving positive feedback.”
Elaborating further, he emphasized, “Spirit is not something anyone can acquire.
You may have a team with spirit but lacking organization, so the assessment of a coach should be comprehensive.
If I fail, then it would be time for me to step aside from the national team, and that’s something that wouldn’t upset me.”
The Football Association settled on appointing a national coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan as head coach and Ibrahim Hassan as team manager, along with Tarek Soliman as assistant coach, Mohamed Abdel Wahed as assistant coach, Safwan El-Sagheer as goalkeeper coach, Manuel Barrionuevo as strength and conditioning coach (a Brazilian), and Walid Badr as team administrator.
