South African coach Pitso Mosimane, the newly appointed head coach of Abha Club, believes that nationality is not a criterion for judging coaches’ abilities.
In statements made to “SSC” channel on Wednesday, Mosimane stated that his career is capable of defending itself and responding to doubts about his abilities before embarking on the new challenge in the Saudi Professional League.
Mosimane had successfully led Al-Ahli Jeddah from the lower Yellow League to the Saudi Professional League, an experience he heavily relies on for his appearance in Saudi stadiums.
“I won with a 4-0 victory over Al-Hilal, the biggest team in Saudi Arabia, which confirms my readiness for the Saudi Professional League,” he continued.
He made sure to extend his gratitude to the management of Al-Ahli Egypt, led by Mahmoud El-Khatib, for giving him the opportunity to appear in Arab stadiums, as well as the management of Al-Ahli Jeddah.
The South African coach clarified that, considering Walid El-Rekraki’s experience with the Moroccan national team, it underscores the need to change perceptions towards African coaches.
