Al Ahly’s management has initiated communications with the Professional Clubs Association regarding the scheduling of postponed matches for the Red Devils, the latest being against Tala’ea El Gaish, originally scheduled for February 19th, within the framework of the Nile League’s thirteenth round.
This action stems from the commitments of the Cairo giants in the group stage matches of the African Champions League.
A source within the Clubs Association, speaking to “Al Watan Sport,” disclosed that an agreement has been reached to hold Al Ahly’s postponed match against Baladiyat Al Mahalla on Tuesday, February 27th, instead of their match against Pyramids, initially set for the same day.
The latter match was postponed due to Pyramids’ involvement in the African Champions League.
“The concern for Al Ahly is the potential fixture congestion due to postponed matches, fearing a recurrence of scenarios from previous seasons, especially as they have played the least number of matches in the competition, only six,” the source stated. ”
In the event of all the postponed matches being squeezed into one timeframe, players might be exposed to fatigue.”
It’s worth noting that Al Ahly currently occupies the eighth position in the Nile League standings with 14 points, having played six matches, winning four and drawing two.
