The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are gearing up for the crucial second leg play-off match against Tunisia on November 17 for the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualification. Some players are already in Yaoundé for the upcoming clash, and coach Volker Finke is focused on securing qualification.
Finke emphasized the importance of preparation and analysis meetings to address the shortcomings observed in the first leg held in Radès. The German coach expressed satisfaction that there are no reported injuries among the called-up players.
The training course, scheduled in the lead-up to the final phase against the Eagles of Carthage, officially begins on Tuesday. Finke is optimistic about the players’ availability, stating, “Fortunately, there were no injuries. I think everyone will be there.”
Emphasizing the need for a winning mentality, Finke stated, “We’re going to work for five days. I’m sure there are options for attackers, but now is not the time to make statements. We learned a lot from the first leg. Tunisia had better positions than Cameroon. The draw we had is not bad.”
The first leg between the two teams ended in a goalless draw, setting the stage for a decisive encounter in the quest for World Cup qualification.
