Roncero backs Mourinho’s Real Madrid for La Liga after eighth straight win

Real Madrid made it eight victories from eight matches since the October international break by beating Valencia 3-0 at Mestalla on Saturday, leaving Jose Mourinho’s side in confident mood as the next international break approaches.

The performance was analysed by Thomas Roncero, the well-known Real Madrid supporter and deputy editor of AS, in a video which was widely shared on YouTube and across social media platforms.

“Eight wins in a row, eight victories from eight since the last break, and now we are heading towards the next one,” Roncero said, as reported by Defensa Central.

He highlighted the contributions of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappe, while also referring to Yan Diomande’s role in the match.

“Bellingham, Arda Guler, Valverde and Mbappe are showing that Real Madrid are more than capable of winning,” he said. “At Mestalla, they did not need an exceptional performance from Diomande to secure the victory.”

Roncero went on to make a strong prediction about Real Madrid’s prospects under Mourinho, placing them among the leading contenders for the league title.

“Real Madrid, led by Mourinho, are the strongest candidates to win La Liga,” he said. “They are an impeccable team, the side everyone has to fight to overcome.”

He added: “Since that derby defeat in such a manner, with that notorious refereeing, Mourinho has managed things smoothly after the break. The current Real Madrid are a powerful force, crushing their opponents with overwhelming superiority.”

Roncero criticises Valencia’s approach

Roncero also criticised what he described as Valencia’s “rough play” throughout the 90 minutes and pointed to the number of fouls committed by the home side.

“Do you know how many fouls Valencia committed against Real Madrid? Twenty-six,” he said. “It is the highest number of fouls committed by an opponent against Madrid in the past four seasons. I mean, analyse that statistic.”

The presenter, who is also known for his appearances on El Chiringuito, focused particular attention on Valencia player Pablo Maffeo. According to Roncero, Maffeo could have been sent off before half-time following challenges involving Marc Cucurella, Yan Diomande and Mbappe.

“I would ask one thing of Maffeo, or of the coaches: do not play him against Real Madrid, because the man becomes nervous, has an outburst of anger and has a problem with Real Madrid,” Roncero said.

He continued: “Do not worry, Maffeo. Your status as Real Madrid’s most hated player is guaranteed, because it is clear that you have no affection for Real Madrid. You were lucky because the referee should have sent you off.”

Roncero then made a reference to Vinicius Junior, who was not involved in the match.

“What is wrong? Were you suffering from Vinicius syndrome?” he said. “Because Vinicius was not there, you were close to losing your mind. You missed Vinicius so much that you picked a fight with the poor Brazilian. You need to calm down.”
