Gabriel Martinelli is expected to return to Al Hilal training when the club’s 10-day break ends, after recovering from the injury that has kept him out of the team’s past three matches.
According to Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiyah, the Brazilian winger is progressing well through his rehabilitation programme and should be ready to join full team training as soon as the squad reconvenes.
Al Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi gave all of his players 10 days off after the 13th round of the Roshn Saudi League was postponed because of the rescheduling of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
Martinelli sustained the injury during Al Hilal’s 3-2 victory over Al Qadsiah on 23 October at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam. The match was played in the 11th round of the Roshn Saudi League.
The problem ruled the former Arsenal player out of three games. He missed Al Hilal’s league meeting with Al Fateh, as well as AFC Champions League Elite matches against Qatar’s Al Shamal and the United Arab Emirates’ Shabab Al Ahli.
The 25-year-old has made eight appearances for Al Hilal in all competitions since the start of the current season. He has scored six goals but has yet to provide an assist.
