Moroccan international Zineb Redouani has completed a move from AS FAR to Spanish top-flight side FC Badalona Women, the club confirmed on Friday.

The 26-year-old defender joins the Catalan club as they look to strengthen their backline after a difficult run of results in Liga F Moeve.

Badalona have gone six league matches without a win and sit second from bottom with eight points from nine games. They have also conceded 13 goals in their last five matches.

Redouani expressed her happiness at joining the Spanish side and getting the opportunity to compete in a new league.

“I’m very happy to be part of this club. I’ve only been here a short time, but they’ve already made me feel comfortable,” she said in a statement released by Badalona.

“I’ve wanted to play in a league as competitive as Spain’s, with such a high technical and tactical level,” she added.

Redouani leaves AS FAR with impressive trophy record

Born in Meknes, Redouani began her football career at Raja Aïn Harrouda before joining AS FAR, where she became a regular member of one of Morocco’s most successful women’s teams.

During her time with the Rabat-based club, she won seven Moroccan league titles and six Throne Cups, as well as two CAF Women’s Champions League trophies in 2022 and 2025.

She was also instrumental in AS FAR’s latest continental triumph, scoring the winning penalty in the 85th minute against ASEC Mimosas in the 2025 final, which ended 2-1 in favour of the Moroccan side.

Her performance earned her the Player of the Final award from CAF.

Redouani has also enjoyed success with the Moroccan national team, helping the Atlas Lionesses reach the final of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished runners-up to South Africa.

Her performances during the tournament earned her a place in the competition’s Best XI.

Badalona assess Redouani ahead of Atlético Madrid clash

Badalona are currently dealing with several defensive absences, including Berta Pujadas, who underwent surgery for a right knee meniscus injury.

Redouani has already completed three training sessions with her new teammates and could make her debut on Monday when Badalona face Atlético de Madrid.
