Zamalek have denied receiving an official offer from Portuguese club Sporting Braga for 18-year-old goalkeeper Omar Abdel Aziz.

A source at the Egyptian club said there had been no formal approach for the goalkeeper, despite reports suggesting Sporting Braga were interested in signing him.

“There are no official offers from Portuguese club Sporting Braga to sign Omar Abdel Aziz, Zamalek’s goalkeeper, as has been reported,” the source told FilGoal.com.

The source added: “Zamalek have not received any professional offers, either for players from the academy and youth teams or for the first-team squad. There are no official negotiations with the club regarding any of the players.”

Abdel Aziz helped Egypt’s youth team secure the North Africa Under-20 Championship, which qualifies them for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Egypt confirmed their place in the tournament by beating Algeria 2-0 in the final round.

The goalkeeper also featured for Zamalek in their match against Wadi Degla in the second round of the group stage of the Egypt Capital Cup.

Zamalek were beaten 1-0 in that match.

Their next fixture is against Misr El Insurance at Cairo International Stadium at 20:00 on Friday. The match will be played in the round of 32 of the Egypt Cup.
