Barcelona captain Raphinha says he wants to win every available trophy, including the UEFA Champions League, after extending his contract with the club until 2030.
The Brazil forward said he would be happy to end his playing career at Barcelona if his fitness allows him to maintain a high level, adding that the contract extension was a source of “great pride” for him and his family.
“It is a feeling of immense pride for me and my family. Only we know what we go through internally,” Raphinha said at a news conference on Thursday.
“I hope to continue for many years. If my physical condition allows me to keep performing at a high level, I would be delighted to finish my career at this club. I am doing everything I can for Barcelona.”
Raphinha also addressed his fitness ahead of the forthcoming international break, saying he was recovering well from an injury but was not yet fully fit.
“Ancelotti understands, as a coach, the need to manage playing time, especially with the injury and the Brazil national team. We have spoken. My condition is very good, but I am not at 100%,” he said.
“There is no reason for Barcelona fans to worry. I am always doing everything possible to be in good physical shape.”
Barcelona are due to face Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Sunday, 08 November 2026. Raphinha said the club would also follow its responsibilities after the death of Miguel de Jesus, the Tenerife striker, on the day of a scheduled match.
“I want to play because it is our job. There are people responsible for making these decisions and we will do what the club says,” he said.
“It was a tragedy and something that affected me deeply. One way of showing respect is to continue working.”
Raphinha rejected the idea that he and team-mate Lamine Yamal were competing against each other for individual awards.
“Our competition is not a real competition. I want him to produce the best statistics and win everything with the club. If you asked him, he would say the same,” said Raphinha.
“I would be happy if he won 10 Ballon d’Or awards. If I am feeling well and my body responds, I will be very happy to stay until 2030 and beyond.”
The 29-year-old said he did not welcome comparisons with Brazilian greats who have played for Barcelona, but hoped to earn his own place in the club’s history.
“I do not like comparisons. They made history here and are loved by Barcelona supporters,” he said. “When I arrived, I could not imagine still being here after the first two years. Many people criticised me, but I knew what I could achieve and contribute on the pitch.”
Raphinha said his goal was to win every possible trophy before 2030, with the Champions League his main target.
“We have suffered heavy defeats, but they will not change our determination,” he said. “Paris Saint-Germain are very strong and are two-time European champions, while anything can happen against Real Madrid in El Clasico. We lost three points, but we are still top of the league and in good condition.”
He said his scoring figures had surprised him after playing in several positions, including as a central striker, and added that he studied Gabriel, Lamine, Antony and Hamza Abdulkarim to improve his game.
Raphinha also praised sporting director Deco, who was his agent when he joined Barcelona. He said they had worked together for seven years and had been friends for 10, describing Deco as “like a father”. Raphinha now manages his affairs with his wife and no longer has an agent.
He said Barcelona were currently performing at their best, having won after their match against Real Madrid, and insisted the team’s quality meant it would not be defined by his absence last season.
