Kaizer Chiefs’ Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final against Siwelele FC has been moved from 15:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.
The match was due to be played at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, but its original kick-off time clashed with the CAF Super Cup meeting between Mamelodi Sundowns and USM Alger.
The Premier Soccer League confirmed the change during Thursday’s Carling Knockout Cup press conferences.
“The Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final match between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC has been rescheduled, with kick-off moved from 15h00 to 18h00,” the PSL said in a statement.
“The adjustment has been made in consideration of Sunday’s CAF Super Cup fixture involving Mamelodi Sundowns. Consequently, both Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final matches scheduled for Sunday will now kick off at 18h00.
“The PSL wishes Mamelodi Sundowns all the best as they compete for CAF Super Cup honours and extends its best wishes to all eight teams competing in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals.”
Chiefs will be looking to respond after losing 2-1 in the Soweto Derby. They advanced comfortably in the previous round of the Carling Knockout Cup, however, beating TS Galaxy 3-0.
Siwelele reached the quarter-finals after overcoming Polokwane City 4-3 on penalties. Their subsequent Betway Premiership match ended in a 3-2 defeat by Marumo Gallants.
