Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch faces late fitness test for Crystal Palace visit
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League meeting with Fenerbahce after suffering a heel fracture, with manager Andoni Iraola unable to confirm when the Netherlands international will return.
Gravenberch first became aware of the problem during the warm-up before Liverpool’s Premier League match against Arsenal. He was named among the substitutes at Anfield but did not come on as the visitors secured a 1-0 victory.
The injury means Gravenberch will miss Liverpool’s fourth match of the Champions League league phase against Fenerbahce on 04 November 2026.
Iraola said the midfielder’s availability for Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture, away to Crystal Palace on Sunday, 08 November 2026, will depend on how he responds to the injury over the coming days.
Asked by The Sun when Gravenberch might return, Iraola said: “I don’t know, it’s day to day.”
He added: “It’s a fracture in the heel. It’s about the pain. He was having some discomfort.”
The Liverpool manager continued: “If he can be there over the weekend, that would be great, and he would be a big help for us. But I can’t tell you now.”
Gravenberch’s absence leaves his participation in the Crystal Palace match uncertain, while Liverpool prepare first for their Champions League fixture against Fenerbahce on Wednesday.
